I feel old. I know I'm not. But I still feel o-l-d-e-r. I have a son who just got to experience "the puberty video" at school with his 5th and 6th grade peers. His take on it, "Mom, it was so annoying. They laughed every time they said the word p*nis." This coming from a child who has seen his mother give birth in his living room twice, after which he declared, "I am NEVER having BIRTH with anyone." He read the books years ago about growing up and body changes, so the video information was not new to him. But he wanted to know "they sent me home with deodorant, can I use it?" We determined the answer to that is NO, as he sniffed his underarm and decided it smelled like absolutely nothing. =) Now if we could use the deodorant on his feet...that might be another story.
I was looking at my friend's new updated website and realized that I don't have anyone in cloth diapers. For the first time in 4.5 years. Which is cool and awesome and all that, but last time I checked Blueberry isn't making underwear for 2 year olds. Boring...no shopping for me!
As far as babywearing goes, he's almost past that too. I still have my Kanga and all the rest are in the collection for the evening meeting of the local Babywearing Group. But they are not getting any day to day use. It's a good thing the youngest is still nursing, otherwise I might be at the point in my parenting where all anyone wants from us is to call for delivery pizza and drive them to Blockbuster to rent more games for the Wii. That doesn't sound too bad. More time for knitting I guess. And I suppose I could aways start watching Lost.
